The Roast Grill

My inspiration for this painting came at about lunchtime when I turned the corner on West St., and found this colorful, tiny restaurant serving up hot dogs and chili (or slaw) to an array of happy customers. I set up my easel across the street and painted for two hours straight, missing lunch entirely but capturing a bright memory tucked away under the shadows of a large Raleigh oak.
